S. Robert August is founder and president of S. Robert August & Company, Inc., an executive business development strategy firm specializing in management, marketing, and sales consulting. Since creating the Colorado-based consulting firm in February, 1983, Robert and his team have helped merchandise more than 14 billion dollars of residential, resort, retail, recreational, commercial, industrial, and institutional real estate.
Robert's longstanding record of inspiration, innovation, and excellence has generated an impressive trail of awards and recognition. The Home Builders Association of Metro Denver honored him as its top "Sales and Marketing Director of the Year" in 1979, again in 1980, and as its "Person of the Year" in 1982. In 1998, Robert also won the HBA of Metro Denver's “Associate of the Year” award.
In 1982, Robert was recognized by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) as the national "Marketing Director of the Year." Robert’s biggest honor is The William “Bill” Molster Award, which is awarded to the most outstanding sales and marketing professional in the nation by the nation’s leading housing trade association of 235,000 plus companies, the NAHB. Robert is the only person to receive this award twice (1996 and 2002).
Among Robert's other honors have been the "Economic Developer of the Year" (1979), the "Marketer of the Year" (1981) by the Metro North Chamber of Commerce in Denver, Colorado, the “President’s Award” (2002) from the Colorado Association of Home Builders, and recognition by the International Real Estate Trade Organization for his contribution and devotion to the real estate industry (2005).
Robert helped establish the Adams County Economic Council, and founded the Douglas County Economic Development Council and the Teller County Economic Development Council. He was honored for his work in founding the Sales and Marketing Council of the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Colorado Springs, which was named the "Best New SMC " in the nation for 1983.
Robert also created and developed the first centralized Parade of Homes for the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Denver in 1986. This event has since become nationally renowned as the industry model.
Robert is a Past Chairman of the Sales and Marketing Council of the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Denver and also Colorado Springs, an 18-year member of the Board of Directors and Public Affairs Chairman for the Colorado Association of Home Builders. He also has been certified as a member in the Institute of Residential Marketing (MIRM), an exclusive organization representing the country's leading sales and marketing professionals, and currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Institute and as its immediate past President.
In 2008 Robert was named a Fellow in the Institute of Residential Marketing College of Fellows. Robert is a past Chairman of the National Sales and Marketing Council (NSMC) of the NAHB. Robert is also a trustee of the NSMC and a nationally recognized leader in membership recruitment and sponsorship sales for the NAHB. Today, Robert ranks as the number sixth all time NAHB membership recruiter among millions.
Robert also serves as a Board of Director for Environmental Service Professionals, the leader in mold and moisture inspection management. He has also been appointed to the Board of Directors of Globe-Allianz, a comprehensive international network of real estate developer services.
Robert has excelled in community and industry fundraising, helping to amass more than 25 million dollars for organizations such as the Children's Hospital, the Children's Diabetes Foundation at Denver, the Colorado AIDS Project, the Denver Hospice, the American Cancer Society, the Home Builders Association of Metro Denver, the Colorado Association of Homebuilders, the National Association of Homebuilders, numerous political campaigns, and many other fine institutions.
Robert is an acclaimed contributor to BuilderRadio.com, Builder-Architect Magazine, Sales & Marketing Ideas, Nation’s Building News, and he co-authored the book, Marketing for Remodelers: Building Business Leads.
Today, Robert continues to provide a full range of executive business development strategies, specializing in management, marketing, and sales consultation services. Robert is also an adjunct professor at the University of Denver and lectures internationally.
Robert has a B.A. in Labor-Management Relations from Penn State University and a Master of International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona.
Robert and his wife, Penny, have been married for 37 years. They have two sons, Jason and Alan.
